Into the Unknown Podcast Episode 2 - Asian Indy

Hey everyone!

We have the 2nd episode of the newly-named Into the Unknown podcast ready to go!

This is a rather small episode, we go over the Q&A for the Live Producer Letter XII and Indy goes into Asian voice mode.

Afterwards it's just some talk about Wildstar and some of our plans for the future in that regard.

I hope you guys enjoy it!~

Into the Unknown Podcast Episode 1 - Wildstar & Hearthstone

Hey everyone!

Here's our latest podcast episode, ready to go for you!

You'll notice the title is different. This will be the title of podcast episodes that are about the ongoing of the Conviction community. ^^

These episodes won't be all about FFXIV, but I'm sure that won't stop me from talking about it a bit.

This particular episode has Nadili giving us her ideas and thoughts for Conviction's Wildstar chapter moving forward, followed by Arithien's riveting description of the new game out by Blizzard: Hearthstone.

For some reason Indy turns part of the episode into an economics discussion... >.>;

Let's not forget the teabagging and Arithien's story about being intimidated by his Conviction interviewers as a young, spritely 17 year old.

I hope you all enjoy this new take on the podcast!

XIVTalk 010 New Year's Podcast

Happy New Years everyone!

Episode 10 is finally here~~

With the new year comes new equipment!~ I got a new microphone over the holidays and am excited to see what you guys think of it. I think it's a VAST improvement over what I was using in the past, lol.

I just want to reiterate that though this podcast is centered around FFXIV, it will also be about Conviction's community which spans over multiple games, as such we discuss the other games Conviction is a part of as well and in the future plan on having guests from those games on the podcast too.

We congratulate Nadi on her promotion to the Inner Council and wish her luck as Wildstar looms ever closer!

Also there is a little discussion about housing and Indy berates Dread for the server first claim on Ifrit, lol.

Indy also regales us with some stories about his adventures in PvP without Swiftcast.~

Thanks to everyone who continues to listen to us as we churn out episodes and I promise we will get on a more consistent schedule as well as continue improving the quality.

XIVTalk 009 An Interview With Indy

Episode 9 - An Interview With Indy

Hey everyone!

This week we got an episode out earlier than normal. ^^ This one is focused mainly on the Conviction community as a whole with some FFXIV topics sprinkled in. Apologies about the volume difference between Indy and myself. All hatred can be aimed at his microphone which at some points is perfectly fine and others is obscenely quiet.

Indy chats with us about what Conviction Gaming has been up to the past year up to the present, as well as what our plans are for the future.

There are some shout outs to the newly formed Wildstar section of Conviction Gaming, good luck on your new endeavor!!

I also tell the story of how I joined Conviction near the end of the episode. :p

It's a pretty tame episode, come on in and listen if you'd like~

XIVTalk 008 Twintania

Episode 8 - Twintania

Hey everyone! :)

With my move into the new apartment finished and Turn 5 DOWN, we have some time to get a new podcast episode in!

I'd like to start of by saying thanks so much to Malagorn for letting us use his new track The Night as our intro song for the podcast! :thumb:

This episode we talk about our Twintania clear a little bit, our thoughts about 2.1 and upcoming content, and what we've been up to these past few weeks.

There is some talk about Adventure Time in there as well, does Wapi sound like BMO to you guys? ;)

There are some other topics of discussion as well, listen in to check them out!

XIVTalk 007 Hermaphrodite Aryden

Episode 7 - Hermaphrodite Aryden

*watches a tumbleweed roll on by*

Ohai there! It's been quite a while since our last episode hasn't it? :/ Apologies for that, event times made scheduling quite a lot harder than I anticipated and we were all just too busy playing the game! Finally after 6 weeks, we have the 7th episode ready and waiting!

Aryden, Mairah and I talk about what we've done these past 6 weeks as well as what Conviction has done since early release of the game.

Aryden turns into a hermaphrodite with the voice of an old man/Oprah.

I mention our success at fielding multiple teams onto Turn 5 in BCoB but mention that I think we're the only group, which certainly isn't the case. I've just heard Daeva of War has 3 teams on Turn 5 at the moment, and more in the earlier turns. That doesn't detract from our success though! Great job!

There's a special surprise at the very end for Tousou. ;-)

Enjoy everyone! We'll be doing our best to produce one of these every week again!

XIVTalk 006 Conviction

 Episode 6 - Conviction

Hey everyone! ^^

With early access less than 48 hours away, this episode was a great chance for Indy to expand on Sera and Zett's posts about Conviction's expectations for everyone moving forward as well as his own blog post about 'the space between' the new recruits and the old-school Conviction team.

There has been a lot of discussion back and forth on the forums and I think that is an indication of the strength this community has. When you look through these forums and you see funny stories, friends just messing around, people organizing help for everyone, as well as gushy posts from the leader about how much effort is put into making this community great, you can't help but like it, I feel!

As has been stated a lot in posts the past couple days, Conviction isn't just a group of people that happens to be really good at endgame. It is a community that enjoys playing the game with each other and helping everyone out. Only because of that are we able to succeed in endgame.

As I spend time with you all every day on the forums, it's very easy for me to see how I was able to get excited enough to start this podcast with Indy, Arla joined up after we asked around, and Aryden, Sayu, and Mairah have been invaluable in helping keep this going. It might not be the highest production podcast and we have talked about non-FFXIV related things, but it's Conviction's podcast, and I am very proud of that.

Just seeing the "Comradamerie" (as Aryden says in the podcast intro) of everyone even before my application was accepted made me excited enough to want to participate with everyone even if it was just on the forums, let alone in game. I was vocal about this excitement with Indecent and the conversation turned to a podcast at some point, which spawned into this. I am indescribably happy and proud of the time I've gotten to spend with everyone here, and I look forward to bridging that 'space between' and having a tight-knit group of gaming friends that go beyond just a particular game.

I know that I'm Conviction 4 Lyfe.

Long, gushy Conviction love story aside, we have a bunch of topics for you in this week's podcast episode! ^^

This week we changed the schedule to an hour earlier to allow Aryden, Indecent, and Sayu to join us easier. Arla joins us about an hour into the episode in our "Conviction After Dark with Arla" segment.

As stated earlier, this episode has Indy expanding on Conviction's expectations, but we also touch on plans for Early Access and release.

After some talk about future plans we take a trip to the past and Indy/Aryden tell the Conviction story of Puscifer from 1.0.

We have a portion of lore talk as always :) (45 minutes in there might be something in the background about a fanfic.....?)

Near the end, we get a nice D&D story from Arla as well. Sayu replaces Arla for the introductory solo, her composition of choice: The Spider-Cat Song.

Lots more as well, this episode is a long one! 2 hours. I am hoping that in the future the podcast will be able to have more structure like this episode does compared to previous ones (although hopefully not all as long as this one lol.) I believe that as we get more content to talk about that will flesh itself out naturally as we find ways to use that content to create 'segments' or something of the like. In any case, long ass post is over, enjoy. :)

XIVTalk 005 The Tranny Story

Episode 5 - The Tranny Story

Hey everyone! Episode 5 of FFXIV Talk is out!

Indecent returns from Europe and tells us some more Conviction stories.

Arla recounts a personal story of his discovery of the new FFXIV commercial.

We talk about Conviction's plans going in to Phase 4, as well as our own personal plans. ^^ We also discuss the Phase 4 patch notes.

Arla really lets loose in this episode. There is very graphic content. You have been warned.

I hope everyone enjoys it. :)

XIVTalk 004 Sheep

 Episode 4 - Sheep

Hey everyone!

We delayed the podcast a day to wait for the live letter so this episode is mainly about the bits of information we gleaned from that. It's now available!

I added more quotes to the intro this time, they're still just as obscene. ^^

This episode starts of with a Lalafell Army of Darkness recruitment notice, as per Queen Wapiko's instructions. Orz

We don't only talk about FFXIV of course, we derail into discussions like the Butt Beetles official outfit (an apron that says "Kiss the Butt Beetles", ass-less chaps, and a Ringo Starr wig.)

Arla brings out his usual flair with a story about cybering in FFXI and being left alone with orphans in a cave in FFXIV.

Also, Mairah really likes Sheep.

XIVTalk 003 Butt Beetles

Episode 3 - Butt Beetles

In this episode Mairah and Sayu join us and we start by trying to talk about lore, then Arla joins and we go on to many other topics.

Some of those topics include butt beetles, the perfect breast size on the breast scaler in character creation (69), and also some talk about FFXIV :p

There is some discussion on the echo at the beginning, as well as the post by Yoshi about the perceivable lag in the Ifrit fight and from monster's AoE abilities.

Enjoy. ^^

XIVTalk 002 No Name

Episode 2

This episode we have awesome talking points such as:

The history of Conviction as told by Indy.

Odin FATE discussion.

Chin-testicles.

Tranny-hooker recruits.

Recurring interjections of Arla's response to the movie Ted as he watches it w/o sound.

Aryden also joins us 42 minutes into the episode after returning from the bar!

XIVTalk 001 Pilot

 Episode 1 - Pilot
