Episode 6 - Conviction
Hey everyone! ^^
With early access less than 48 hours away, this episode
was a great chance for Indy to expand on Sera and Zett's posts about
Conviction's expectations for everyone moving forward as well as his own
blog post about 'the space between' the new recruits and the old-school
Conviction team.
There has been a lot of discussion back and forth on the forums and I
think that is an indication of the strength this community has. When you
look through these forums and you see funny stories, friends just
messing around, people organizing help for everyone, as well as gushy
posts from the leader about how much effort is put into making this
community great, you can't help but like it, I feel!
As has been stated a lot in posts the past couple days, Conviction isn't
just a group of people that happens to be really good at endgame. It is
a community that enjoys playing the game with each other and helping
everyone out. Only because of that are we able to succeed in endgame.
As I spend time with you all every day on the forums, it's very easy for
me to see how I was able to get excited enough to start this podcast
with Indy, Arla joined up after we asked around, and Aryden, Sayu, and
Mairah have been invaluable in helping keep this going. It might not be
the highest production podcast and we have talked about non-FFXIV
related things, but it's Conviction's podcast, and I am very proud of
that.
Just seeing the "Comradamerie" (as Aryden says in the podcast intro) of
everyone even before my application was accepted made me excited enough
to want to participate with everyone even if it was just on the forums,
let alone in game. I was vocal about this excitement with Indecent and
the conversation turned to a podcast at some point, which spawned into
this. I am indescribably happy and proud of the time I've gotten to
spend with everyone here, and I look forward to bridging that 'space
between' and having a tight-knit group of gaming friends that go beyond
just a particular game.
I know that I'm Conviction 4 Lyfe.
Long, gushy Conviction love story aside, we have a bunch of topics for you in this week's podcast episode! ^^
This week we changed the schedule to an hour earlier to allow Aryden,
Indecent, and Sayu to join us easier. Arla joins us about an hour into
the episode in our "Conviction After Dark with Arla" segment.
As stated earlier, this episode has Indy expanding on Conviction's
expectations, but we also touch on plans for Early Access and release.
After some talk about future plans we take a trip to the past and Indy/Aryden tell the Conviction story of Puscifer from 1.0.
We have a portion of lore talk as always
(45 minutes in there might be something in the background about a fanfic.....?)
Near the end, we get a nice D&D story from Arla as well. Sayu
replaces Arla for the introductory solo, her composition of choice: The
Spider-Cat Song.
Lots more as well, this episode is a long one! 2 hours. I am hoping that
in the future the podcast will be able to have more structure like this
episode does compared to previous ones (although hopefully not all as
long as this one lol.) I believe that as we get more content to talk
about that will flesh itself out naturally as we find ways to use that
content to create 'segments' or something of the like. In any case, long
ass post is over, enjoy.
